Canary Wharf Riverside 2013 01

June 2013

The end of a dramatic sunset seen from Canary Wharf Riverside. I like the expanse of water with a backdrop of new buildings being built in the city seen from here with light catching the reflective glass of The Shard on the far left. For a long time the tallest building in central London was Tower 42, then called The Nat West Tower. Since the building of The Shard more tall buildings have arrived in The City to rival those of Canary Wharf. For the first time on this journey you can now see The Walkie Talkie and The Leadenhall Building in construction. The tower to the right is Heron Tower at Liverpool Street with The Gherkin in-between.
